Paweł Grobelny – projektant, kurator wystaw i wykładowca akademicki. Studiował na Akademiach Sztuk Pięknych w Paryżu, Lyonie i Poznaniu. Był stypendystą Rządu Francuskiego w Paryżu, programu Casa de Velazquez – Academie de France w Madrycie oraz programu RU w Nowym Jorku.

Autor wielu projektów przestrzeni publicznych. Jego realizacje znajdują się między innymi w ogrodzie Zhongshan w Szanghaju, ogrodzie Albertine w Brukseli, w paryskiej dzielnicy biznesu La Defense i dzielnicy unijnej w Strasburgu oraz w ogrodzie Rath Gyorgy w Budapeszcie.

Laureat prestiżowego programu „100 Young Creative Talents” w ramach Roku Kreatywności i Innowacji Unii Europejskiej. Laureat międzynarodowych nagród m.in. „LVMH Moet Hennessy – Louis Vuitton”, „Tremplins Meuble Paris” oraz „Rado Star France” przyznanej podczas Paris Design Week. Dwukrotny laureat głównej nagrody jury „Polska Architektura XXL” dla najlepiej zaprojektowanych przestrzeni publicznych w Polsce (w 2018 i 2019 r). W 2020 roku otrzymał także nagrodę jury „DNA Paris Design Award” w kategorii „Landscape Design” za projekt skweru zaprojektowanego w Poznaniu. Projekt ten znalazł się w grupie piętnastu najlepiej zaprojektowanych przestrzeni publicznych na całym świecie. A po raz pierwszy nagrodzony został projekt z Polski.

Jego prace znajdują się między innymi w kolekcjach Muzeum Designu w Monachium, Muzeum Sztuk Stosowanych w Budapeszcie oraz w Kolekcji Wzornictwa Polskiego Muzeum Narodowego w Warszawie.

Oprócz projektowania zajmuje się projektami kuratorskimi. Jest kuratorem wielu wystaw popularyzujących polski dizajn poza granicami kraju. Wystawy te prezentowane były między innymi w Centrum Architektury w Paryżu, Muzeum Designu w Helsinkach, Muzeum Designu w Kolonii oraz w Korea Foundation w Seulu i na Inno Design Tech Expo w Hong Kongu.

Prowadzi Pracownię Projektowania Przestrzeni Publicznej na Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Warszawie oraz gościnne wykłady w ramach studiów podyplomowych Total Design Management na zaproszenie Instytutu Wzornictwa Przemysłowego w Warszawie.

Paweł Grobelny – designer, exhibition curator and lecturer. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań, Lyon and Paris. He received grants from the Government of France in Paris, Casa de Velázquez program in Madrid,  Young Poland program of Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, and Residency Unlimited program in New York. The winner of international awards, including ”LVMH Moet Hennessy – Louis Vuitton”, “Tremplins Meuble Paris” and “Rado Star France 2013” granted during the Paris Design Week. His works are in the collections of, among others, the Design Museum in Munich and the National Museum in Warsaw.

Apart from designing for the industry, Paweł Grobelny also designs his own collections, often commissioned by galleries and cultural institutions. His works have been presented at such events as Vienna Design Week, Paris Design Week, Tokyo Design Week and Biennale Design Saint-Etienne. He is particularly passionate about urban space projects made for specific locations, respecting their surrounding contexts. He is the author or urban furniture in Zhongshan Park in Shanghai, in Albertine garden in Brussels, and in Paris.

Apart from designing, Paweł Grobelny is also an active design curator. He is the co-curator of the exhibition series “Unpolished. Young Design from Poland” and “Polished up. Design from Poland” popularizing Polish design abroad. The “Unpolished” exhibition, which won the curatorial contest organized by the Design Museum in Helsinki in 2011 as part of the World Design Capital, was presented among others at the Museum of Applied Arts in Budapest, the Museum of Design in Cologne and the Korea Foundation in Seoul.

He is particularly interested in projects combining art and design. He gets on well both with the industry and with cultural institutions.

Paweł Grobelny – designer, commissaire d’expositions. Il a fait ses études aux Académies des Beaux-Arts de Poznań, Lyon et Paris. Il a également bénéficié de la bourse du Gouvernement français à Paris, Residency Unlimited à NYC, Young Poland à Varsovie, et Casa de Velazquez à Madrid. Paweł Grobelny a remporté de nombreux prix de design, tels que „LVMH Moet Hennessy . Louis Vuitton”, „Tremplins Meuble Paris” et „Rado Star Prize France – I Prix du Public 2013”. Ses œuvres sont dans les collections du Musée du Design de Munich et Musée National de Varsovie.

Il conçoit ses projets tant pour l’industrie que pour ses collections d’auteur, souvent sur commande des institutions culturelles et des galeries. Il a présenté ses œuvres notamment lors du Vienna Design Week, Paris Design Week, Tokyo Design Week, et de Biennale du Design à Saint-Étienne. Il a une prédilection particulière pour les projets destinés aux espaces urbains, réalisés pour des lieux spécifiques, dans le respect du contexte environnant. Il est auteur de mobilier urbain, dont de celui du jardin Zhongshan à Shanghai et du jardin Albertine à Bruxelles.

Outre la conception, il s’occupe également des projets curatoriaux. Il est co-commissaire du cycle d’expositions ”Unpolished. Young Design from Poland” et “Polished up. Design from Poland”, popularisant le design polonais à l’étranger. Depuis 2009, l’exposition ”Unpolished” a été présentée entre autres au Musée des Arts Décoratifs de Budapest et au Musée du Design de Cologne. En 2011, son exposition a également remporté le concours curatorial organisé par le Musée du Design d’Helsinki, dans le cadre de la Capitale mondiale du Design.

Il est particulièrement intéressé aux actions à la limite de l’art et du design. Il aime travailler avec l’industrie, tout comme avec les institutions culturelles.
